Mara Abboud, American (1949- )
Abboud interweaves spectacular colours with fantasy designs from a wide variety of cultures. The resulting jewel-like tapestry effect is evocative of mosaic tiles and stained glass.
Her art has appeared in over 20 publications including: Architectural Digest, Los Angeles Times, New York Times, Boston Globe, Art in America and Art News.
Examples of her art are found in important collections throughout the United States and Europe. Beverly Sills, Michele Lee, Mr. and Mrs. Brian Wilson, Mr. and Mrs. Don Murray, Lord and Lady Ridley-Tree and Mrs. Harold Robins are among her many distinguished private collectors.
